Google Pack. So What?

Google announced it’s desk top bundle Google Pack. As far as I can see, it is simply a buldling of it’s own Google Earth, Google Desktop, Picasa, Toolbar for IE, and Google Pack Screensaver. They also throw in Norton Antivirus 2005 SE, Ad-Aware SE Personal and Adobe Reader. Nothing special here. But the updater looks nice.

Also, though it’s not available for the Mac, much of the functionality is available for the Mac. Google just announced it has released a Mac version of Google Earth. Apple’s Spotlight does the work of Google Desktop. Instead of Picasa, there’s iPhoto, which can do duty as a screen saver (I admit this costs money). Finally Google Toolbar is avaliable for Firefox, which is available free on the Mac.
