Colorado Springs Search Dogs

My friends Gayle Humm and Kim and Brenda Veitch from my days on the El Paso County Search and Rescue Team are featured in the Colorado Springs Gazette on search and rescue dogs.

Not counting rescues and unscheduled training time, he said, the commitment reaches about 30 hours, with more than half focused on dog training.

Veitch offered a simple reason why he does it.

“The obvious appeal is finding someone who is lost or injured,” Veitch said.

Rescue dog is a rare breed.”
