I’ve been following Ron Paul’s campaign for President since his announcement to run. Today was my first experience attending a political rally for Dr. Paul. He wasn’t there, but about 60 supporters from the San Francisco Bay Area gathered at the Ferry Building to wave signs, march to Union Square, wave more signs, hand out literature, march back to the Ferry Building and re-enact the Boston Tea Party.

It was incredible to see the diversity of ages and races. What really struck me was the youth who supported Ron Paul. As we passed the Virgin MegaStore on Market St, four or five teenage girls cheered the procession of Paul supporters. We were joined by three latino high schoolers supporting Dr Paul. Incredible!

As we returned to the Ferry Building by way of Market Street, we stopped in front of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco to take a group picture.

For some reason, evangelicals ignore presidential candidate Rep Ron Paul, who is pro-life, pro-consitition and pro-liberty. He best represents conservative Christians. Chuck Baldwin wrote about why he’s ignored a month ago. Baldwin gives two reason, the first is concern that evangelicals want to be accepted by the Republican party. But I tend to believe his second reason, that evangelicals are shallow, prefering “candidates who wear religion on their sleeve.” Any candidate who says he’s a Bible believing Christian is worthy of the evangelical vote — If that’s the case, then they should have thrown their support behind Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

After receiving proposals from developers:

… city staffers will review the documents, pick their favorite ideas and ask for formal proposals.

What!?! Bureaucrats will pick their favorite idea? What kind of nutty idea is that? They won’t even be deciding on the best use of the land. They will be deciding on their favorite use of the land. Perhaps with the Kelo decision, their next task will be to pick their favorite idea for the use of your property.

There is a comment on John C. Dvorak’s Blog posting, “Bush authorizes NSA dosmetic wiretaps,” where Smith attempts to justify Bush’s illegal wiretaps. He concludes, “Least we forget, it was FOREIGN citizens that killed 3,000 of OUR citizens. Focusing our investigations upon FOREIGN citizens just might prevent another 9/11. Confiscating knitting needles from 80-year old ladies from Cleveland will not.”

In a Frontline report, “Inside the Terror Network, Senator Bob Graham stated, “[The FBI] failed to do so. It also was a breakdown in the hand-off of information from the intelligence services to the domestic law enforcement agencies. Several of these people had been tracked by intelligence until they got inside the United States, and then they were lost in our own country.”

Frontline reported, “Perhaps the greatest missed opportunity to foil the plot came just a month before the attack, when a French Moroccan student was jailed in Minnesota. Zacarias Moussaoui aroused suspicion as an inexperienced pilot seeking advanced jet simulator training for a 747 airliner. The flight school alerted the FBI, noting that a fully fueled 747 could be used as a bomb.”

Graham affirmed, “That was sufficient to cause the operator of the simulator to bring it to the attention of the local FBI, but it wasn’t sufficient to cause central FBI to say we need to conduct an aggressive investigation to find out what Mussaoui is up to.”

Lest we forget it was the FBI who was tipped off and had all the information it needed to know to foil the foreign citizens that killed 3000 of our citizens. Following up on tips like that would have prevented 9/11. Spying on a Quaker Meeting House would not.
